Career

Christopher is a corporate and commercial law Partner based in Kuwait and has been with the firm since February 2010. Prior to joining ASAR, Christopher practiced with a top tier law firm in Uganda and lectured commercial and corporate law at leading universities in Uganda for four years.

Christopher has extensive experience in corporate and commercial law matters including the representation of local and foreign clients in franchise, establishment of Kuwaiti companies, employment, competition law, mergers and acquisitions and agency/distributorship related matters.

Professional Experience

Acquisition of Refrigeration Oxygen Company –  Led Praxair Inc.’s acquisition of a significant stake in Refrigeration Oxygen Limited Company WLL and its Qatari subsidiary, valued at USD102 million

Restructuring of IKEA regional franchise operations – Provided strategic guidance to a high net worth Kuwaiti family owning the IKEA franchise, restructuring operations across Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, and Morocco
Acquisition of Talabat –  Contributed to advising Rocket Internet on the acquisition of Talabat General Trading and Contracting Company WLL, a pioneering online food delivery business operating across Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE, Oman, and Qatar
Privatization of KPC non-core activities –  Played a key role in advising Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) on its Private Sector Participation Programme, aimed at privatizing non-core activities
