ECIJA Otero is the result of the September 2019 merger of local firm Estudio Jurídico Otero with Spain-headquartered multinational practice ECIJA. ECIJA Otero’s four-strong employment practice advises on the full range of labour issues - including labour restructurings, the dismissal of senior executives and drafting of senior executive contracts, court proceedings and labour inspections, and collective bargaining agreements. The result of a 2019 merger between well-known local firm Estudio Otero, and Spain's ECIJA, ECIJA Otero is the Chilean office of a firm that now counts 14 offices across the region (in addition to those in the Iberian Peninsula). Accustomed to complex litigation, the five-strong, Santiago-based disputes practice is led by Rodrigo Nelson, who has longstanding experience in litigation, arbitration and bankruptcy proceedings, at both national and international level, including disputes involving the regulated markets, along with construction, mining, insurance and corporate litigation. Associate Jaime Silva Bruce is active in civil, labour and criminal law matters.
