Siobhan’s particular experience in advising in relation to the white collar crime aspects of taxation, including advising companies in relation to risk with regard to the Corporate Criminal Offence, and the effect of Code of Practice 8 investigations.

Siobhan also has extensive experience in providing advice and support to those individual taxpayers who are the subject of HMRC Special Investigations, from pre the serving of Code of Practice 9 Notices, to arrest, searches, dawn raids of business and personal properties and HMRC interviews under caution.

Recently, Siobhan spent a year contracted as a Solicitor with HMRCs Solicitors Office, running a case load of high value and complex VAT and other indirect tax cases. During this period she gained invaluable an perspective into how HMRC operates in relation to litigation.

Siobhan’s view is that the best option for the client is the one that avoids court room litigation wherever possible. However, where settlement and mediation are not possible, she has extensive experience in taking matters to the Tax Tribunal in the most efficient way possible.

Siobhan aims to provide clear, timely and concise advice to clients, in a way that is immediately understandable to the parties concerned.
