Annemieke handles disputes on behalf of and between insurers. She advises on coverage and is an experienced litigator in coverage disputes. Her clients often instruct Annemieke and her team in  complex and cross-border cases. She frequently represents primary and/or excess layers in (cross-border) discussions between the different layers of an insurance tower and/or different programs. Neyah specialises in criminal defense and investigations, with a particular focus on financial economic crime, anti-money laundering legislation, international sanctions regulations and fraud. Neyah helps companies and boards prevent violations of laws and regulations, for instance by implementing compliance measures. Neyah also assists companies and boards in the event of a potential breach of laws and regulations, including by conducting investigations, taking remedial action and preparing for potential government enforcement. Neyah has acted as counsel in some of the most high-profile enforcement cases in the Netherlands and has broad experience in defending companies that are the subject of complex national and international investigations, both by criminal investigative and prosecutorial agencies (e.g. the FIOD and the Dutch Public Prosecution Office) and by administrative enforcement agencies (e.g. the AFM and DNB). Neyah often cooperates closely with other internal and external experts, such as internal auditors and forensic accountants. Neyah regularly publishes and gives lectures on compliance, investigations and international sanctions.

Ariën advises private equity and other investors, funds, finance institutions, local and regional authorities and large and mid-sized businesses on commercial property transactions, restructurings, auctions, voluntary sell-downs, bricks through shares and property loan portfolio sales. Ariën advises on commercial property and financing transactions and advises and assists private equity firms, banks, businesses, local and regional authorities and governments on property (financing) matters. He also advises on restructuring and foreclosure scenarios.

Dimitri is part of the Corporate team and member of our Healthcare & Life Sciences team. He is an expert in the area of Mergers & Acquisitions, joint-ventures, participations and regulatory matters in the healthcare and life sciences sector. Dimitri advises businesses, the corporate sector, (private equity) investors and healthcare providers, (international) manufacturers and distributors of medicinal products and medical devices. He focuses particularly on the healthcare and life sciences industry and has specific expertise in regulatory matters relating to (reimbursement and market access of) medicinal products, medical devices and digital health. His combination of legal disciplines and understanding of the business needs of pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology companies maximizes value for his clients, from start-up or private equity owned companies, to large pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Dimitri is also part of the Technology Transactions team.This integrated and multidisciplinary team of experts gives advice to clients with regard to transactions which include distinctive technology components.

Bart van Reeken

Bart negotiates in a way which contributes to the success of relationships. He allocates much of his time to large IT and business process outsourcings which often stretch over multiple countries and jurisdictions. His team’s work covers a broad spectrum, ranging from negotiating and drafting outsourcing agreements, software development agreements, software licences, implementation, AI empowerd services and SaaS agreements, to handling software license and compliance issues and IT-related disputes. He also has experience in setting up joint development, mutually integrated production, and joint marketing arrangements. Bart’s primary focus is structuring effective business relations. He likes taking a holistic view and forging an inspiring cooperation in diverse teams. He helps people understand each other, creates clarity and proposes creative ways of bridging differences. Bart has worked for more than half of the larger Netherlands based multinationals, including most of the larger Netherlands based banks and insurance companies. By assisting with innovative projects, he keeps informed connected with trends and innovations that can benefit his (other) clients. Bart shares his experience and insights not only with those working with him, but also by lecturing at a university, teaching post-academic courses for other IT and business lawyers and regularly publishing articles.
Anneloes van Uhm

Anneloes van Uhm

Anneloes works in the Finance team. She advises lenders and borrowers in cross-border and domestic financing transactions, including project finance, acquisition finance and corporate lending. She also advises clients on  (financial) restructurings and matters of insolvency law. Anneloes has become partner as per 1 January 2025. Anneloes previously worked for the State Advocate in tax matters. Her work involved, for example, tax collection law and attachment and enforcement law, and she litigated on behalf of the Ministry of Finance and the Tax Administration in the area of collecting tax debts. In 2018 Anneloes completed the post-graduate Grotius specialists’ course Financing & Security cum laude. She studied at Utrecht University, where she graduated cum laude in 2011.

Florence Verbeek

Florence specialises in national and international commercial contract law, with a focus on drafting and reviewing (cross-border) distribution, franchise and agency agreements, supply and purchase agreements and general terms and conditions. Florence also frequently conducts legal proceedings regarding commercial disputes. She furthermore advises both national and international clients on issues relating to consumer and liability law, e-commerce and international private law. Florence is a native speaker of English.
Ruben Verschuren

Ruben Verschuren

Ruben is an experienced lawyer in the field of financial regulatory law. Ruben advises financial institutions on licence applications to DNB/AFM as well as on matters relating to financial regulatory law (Wft – the Financial Supervision Act) and the Wwft (the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (Prevention) Act). Recently he has assisted, among others, a financial institution in establishing a branch office, obtaining an authorised agent licence for an insurer, advising a payment card company on the implementation of the Wwft and advising an oil and gas company on its PSD2 licence application.

Joost Volkers co-heads Van Doorne’s Restructuring group. He specialises in both contentious and litigious restructuring and insolvency matters. He is regularly involved in cross-border restructurings with a Dutch nexus. He is a dedicated collaborative partner for clients on complex issues and disputes in financing, restructuring and bankruptcy law, including related liability proceedings. Joost helps find a solution that works not only legally, but also commercially. Joost frequently publishes on his area of expertise and gives regular presentations and lectures, including at the Vrije Universiteit and the Law Firm School. He is on the editorial board of HERO.
Daniëlle Westerhoff

Daniëlle Westerhoff

Daniëlle is a specialist in the Tax Law practice. She mainly advises clients on national tax law, focussing on clients in the semi-public and public law sector, such as educational institutions, healthcare facilities and governments. Within that context, Danielle focuses on the tax-law aspects of collaborations, mergers, demergers, acquisitions and internal reorganisations. Daniëlle frequently advises clients on value-added tax, company income tax, capital transfer tax and gift tax, which often touches on the consequences for the private individuals involved in respect of income and wage tax. Together with her public-law colleagues (attorneys as well as civil-law notaries), Daniëlle is capable of shedding light on both civil-law aspects and tax aspects, providing single, integral opinions and, if necessary, finding creative solutions while drawing on the various disciplines. Daniëlle also provides up-to-date knowledge on real estate tax issues. In that context she regularly publishes in the construction law journal Tijdschrift voor Bouwrecht.
