Joost Volkers co-heads Van Doorne’s Restructuring group. He specialises in both contentious and litigious restructuring and insolvency matters. He is regularly involved in cross-border restructurings with a Dutch nexus. He is a dedicated collaborative partner for clients on complex issues and disputes in financing, restructuring and bankruptcy law, including related liability proceedings. Joost helps find a solution that works not only legally, but also commercially.

Joost frequently publishes on his area of expertise and gives regular presentations and lectures, including at the Vrije Universiteit and the Law Firm School. He is on the editorial board of HERO.

In 2011 Joost received master degrees in both Corporate Law and Trade and Economical Law from Radboud University in Nijmegen. Joost also studied at the university of Glasgow. In May 2013 he completed the Law Firm School (with cum laude distinction). In 2017 Joost completed the post-graduate INSOLAD/Grotius specialist course on insolvency law (with cum laude distinction). Joost frequently publishes. Joost is also a member of INSOLAD, the Dutch specialist association for insolvency lawyers, and Insol Europe.

His clients include financial institutions, investors, credit and debt funds, large international and Dutch corporates.
