The firm: Gianni & Origoni was founded in 1988 with the goal of developing a truly international business practice.

To this end the firm opened three offices in Rome, Milan and New York. The founding partners broke new ground by importing the Anglo-Saxon model of legal practice to ltaly, determined to create an international law firm equipped to meet the demands of modern business.

Soon other offices were opened in leading financial centres in Europe: in London, the crossroads of all banking and financial operations, and in Brussels, a must for all EU-related issues of cross-border transactions. Further offices were launched in Bologna, Padua and Turin to serve central-north ltalian clients.

A new step in the firm’s internationalisation process was taken in 2010 with the launch of a new office in Abu Dhabi. Gianni & Origoni is the first Italian law firm to open a branch in the United Arab Emirates.

Lastly, it opened an office in Hong Kong, the financial hub of the Far East. Dedicated China, India, Korea, Luxembourg, Russia and Turkey desks further underline the firm’s core philosophy.

Today the firm can count on more than 430 lawyers serving its clients around the world through offices in Rome, Milan, Bologna, Padua, Turin, Abu Dhabi, Brussels, Hong Kong, London, and New York.

Since 1988, the firm has come a long way, working alongside Italian and foreign companies in their international operations and investments, as well as in their routine activity. Since 1988, it has been a benchmark in the legal market.

Areas of practice: Gianni & Origoni is an award-winning business law firm providing legal advice in all areas of commercial law.

Although it began with a focus on M&A and corporate law, the firm has grown into a full-service law practice. Its strength extends into other practice areas in which it provides top quality expertise: administrative law and tenders; antitrust and regulatory; art law; banking and finance; corporate and M&A; data protection; energy and infrastructure; environmental law; financial markets; insolvency and reorganisations; insurance; intellectual property, IT and media; labour law; litigation and arbitration; real estate; shipping, aviation and transportation; taxation; wealth and trust; white collar crime.

Today the departments are each recognized as leaders in the legal profession.

Clients can benefit from an integrated practice, that ensures a co-ordinated and cost-effective management of all aspects of their transactions.

The firm’s goal is to be the firm of choice for clients with regards to all their legal needs, whatever may be the size of the matter.
