Partner Mikkel Friis Rossa heads Bech-Bruun's IP & Technology department and is recognised as one of the leading lawyers in Denmark within GDPR, cyber security (NIS2, DORA, Cyber Resilience Act, etc.) and emerging tech (AI, Data Act, etc.). He consistently delivers strategic advice to leading national and global corporations within the cross field of data privacy, emerging tech and cyber security, with "digital compliance" as his core competence. His clientele includes some of Denmark's largest multinational companies, entrusting him with pivotal roles in strategic digital projects, as well as matters involving supervisory authorities or the courts.
At the core of Mikkel's expertise lies his adeptness in advising and implementing digital compliance in alignment with existing business processes and the organisation’s risk profile. He is recognised for his ability to advise and communicate at eye level in an easily understandable manner with all parts of the organisation within complex legal areas where his business understanding and communication skills make him stand out. He also excels in assisting clients in contesting fines levied by authorities and navigating the complexities of international data transfers. Mikkel has advised an impressive roster of clients – including executive management and the boards of directors of multiple leading companies – on the complexity of implementing NIS2, DORA and other relevant EU regulations within cyber security and digital compliance.
Mikkel believes that the cornerstone of great client relationships is mutual trust, cultivated through a friendly, informal and open dialogue. He recognises the importance of continuously aligning expectations to optimise legal advice while mitigating potential barriers that could impede progress. As an adviser, Mikkel embodies the qualities of approachability, humility, trustworthiness and proactive service, complemented by a keen commercial sharpness that seamlessly integrates legal advice with the client's business strategy. His commitment to delivering professional excellence ensures that his advisory services are not only of the highest quality but also readily understandable and actionable for his clients.
