QC specialising in EU law, public law, competition law, human rights; has appeared in over 130 cases in the European Court of Justice and over 30 cases before the European Commission and Court of Human Rights; appears also in the full range of English courts and tribunals, with particular emphasis on commercial judicial review, human rights, competition law and all aspects of EU law; recent cases include: L’Oréal v eBay (trade marks, pending), UEFA v Commission (football broadcasting, 2011), Kadi v Council (sanctions and international law, 2010), R (Gaunt) v Ofcom (freedom of speech, 2010), Demopoulos v Cyprus (right to property, 2010). Appointed part-time independent reviewer of terrorism legislation, 2011.
