Career

Juan Carlos Bulnes joined Larrain y Asociados in 2002 and is a partner since 2016.

From 2011 until March, 2014 he served as Undersecretary of the Chilean National Property Ministry. During said period he also integrated, as Undersecretary or Minister Deputy, several National Councils, including the National Council for Maritime Affairs (CNUBC), the National Council for Indigenous Affairs (CONADI), the National Council for Tourism; and the National Council for Land, City and Infrastructure (COMICYT).

Juan Carlos has ample academic experience. He has taught the course Civil Law at Universidad Católica de Chile (2005) and at Universidad de los Andes (2008-2010), as well as Torts and Business Law at the Universidad de los Andes (2005 and 2006, respectively).

He studied law at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (J.D.) (summa cum laude) and was admitted in 2003. In 2007 he obtained a Masters of Law Degree (LL.M.) at the University of California, Berkeley, USA (Boalt Hall School of Law Scholarship). During 2007 he worked as a foreign associate in Stikeman Elliott LL.P. (Montreal, Canada).
