Career
Ms. Fonte’s practice focuses largely on four areas: FinTech/Banking-as-a-Service, traditional and emerging payments (including mobile), banking operations and regulatory, and financial services technology agreements.
She is co-chair of Hunton Andrews Kurth’s Financial Institutions Corporate and Regulatory practice and assists clients with a broad range of legal and regulatory matters related to FinTech/Banking-as-a-Service, payments, digital commerce, banking and financial services, technology contracting, and general corporate matters.
Ms. Fonte regularly advises financial institutions, FinTech companies and alternative payment providers regarding digital financial services products, including mobile banking, mobile payments, and mobile wallet products and services. She has been involved in the creation of new payment networks and has worked extensively on bank-fintech partnerships, emerging products, services and payment network operating rules.
On behalf of retailers, Ms. Fonte provides industry-focused guidance regarding traditional and mobile payments, and add-on mobile products such as mobile loyalty/rewards and geo-location advertising, coupons and offers. She also has experience with a broad range of matters related to e-commerce technology and digital channels.
A recognized thought leader, Ms. Fonte writes and speaks frequently on financial technology and FinTech issues, including new product design and compliance issues.
