Iftkhar Ahmed is a partner in our real estate group and leads the major corporates group in Birmingham. He specialises in occupier based work for corporates and his principal clients include Unipart Group; Mitchells & Butlers Plc; HSBC; Goodyear Dunlop; Interserve Plc; Metalrax Plc and Safestore Holdings Plc.

Iftkhar has considerable experience on a wide range of commercial property work from portfolio management through to investment and development work.

Iftkhar's recent experiences include:-

• Mitchells & Butlers Plc - being the lead real estate advisor on the £2billion+ securitisation of the pub/restaurant and hotel portfolio involving over 2000 properties; and on the proposed £5billon real estate lead re-structuring of the group in 2007.
• LDV Group - advised the company on the £75million real estate backed re-financing deal which was the Birmingham Post's Dealmaker Awards "Deal of the Year". This deal was intended to secure the company's long term future as it enabled the company to launch the LD100 van and involved two highly complex sale and leaseback deals with Advantage West Midlands and AXA.
• Unipart Group - leading on the £200million re-financing deal of the automotive and rail divisions within the group. Iftkhar has successfully concluded sale and leaseback deals for the company including the HQ at Cowley which alone comprised one million square feet of distribution/warehousing space and 100,000 square fee of office space.

Iftkhar was also awarded the Lloyds TSB Professional Excellence Jewel Award in 2007 - the award celebrated the contribution made by Asian people to society and the economy and recognises outstanding achievement in professional practice in Britain.
