Career

Álvaro Sevilla is Partner in the Corporate and Competition Practice and Head of the Intelectual Property Unit at Tobar ZVS. He joined the Firm in 1994. He has more than 28 years of experience in the competition, intellectual property and anti-piracy areas.

He is head of the competition unit with practice in trials for abuse of market power, corrective measures, market distortion, unfair competition and agreements. He also handles within the corporate unit issues related to the structuring of legal business vehicles, commercial contracts, M&A and project finance.

He has extensive experience in regulatory matters, his practice includes aspects related to health, advertising, communication, telecommunications, data protection and food and beverage-related issues. In Intellectual Property matters, he provides strategic advice in the different phases of intellectual property, particularly in matters related to copyrights and plant breeders’ rights.

The most recent advisories have focused on the health sector, technology, advertising, floriculture and agriculture, brand management, communications, entertainment and sports.
