Claire qualified as a Solicitor in Northern Ireland in 2008 and was admitted to the roll of Solicitors in England & Wales in 2009. She joined Parlett Kent in 2009 and Barcan+Kirby (formerly Barcan Woodward) in 2013 and has practiced exclusively in claimant clincial negligence since 2009. Claire was promoted to Partner in April 2017.

She has specialised in medical negligence for over 10 years. She undertakes a broad range of medical negligence cases and has particular experience in cases arising from negligent obstetric care including those involving children who have suffered cerebral palsy and erb’s palsy following complications during labour, and cases where negligent obstetric care has resulted in maternal injuries, often affecting continence.

Claire also specialises in acting for the families of those who have died as a result of medical negligence, including representation at inquests and claims arising from psychiatric injury for surviving family members who have experienced trauma second hand.
