NORDIA Law > Firm Profile
The firm: NORDIA Law is your legal advisor in the Nordics. We have offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Oslo and Helsinki.
Our mission is to help you and your company succeed in your everyday business in an international environment with ever-changing legal requirements. We are a modern and straightforward partner in your daily business and corporate law-related matters. We serve you with dedication and exceed your expectations on customer service while maintaining legal costs at a cost-efficient and predictable level.
Aside from a solid and broad corporate law competence, NORDIA Law is distinguished by top-level expertise in the fields of insolvency, intellectual property, and family law.
Main practice areas
Company law: NORDIA Law advises on company law matters relating to all types of legal entity. Many of the firm’s partners and associates possess specialist knowledge in areas that, in one way or another, relate to company law. Obviously, the firm often assists in the drafting of contracts in conjunction with business transactions and thereby frequently assumes an active advisory role.
Insolvency and restructuring: NORDIA Law has a long tradition of working with insolvency and restructuring. Our insolvency lawyers are regularly appointed as trustees in bankruptcies, as liquidators, and as administrators in company reorganizations. We also assist creditors in protecting their interests in insolvency proceedings. With our broad knowledge in a wide range of insolvency matters, we can provide our clients with specialized legal expertise as well as technical skills.
Employment law: At NORDIA Law, a highly experienced and competent team advises in all areas of employment law. The team’s work includes reorganisations, collective and individual dismissals, union negotiations, disputes, matters regarding non-compete clauses and trade secrets, transaction-related employment law, employment terms and conditions for senior executives, health and safety issues (physical and psychosocial), discrimination, and internal investigations. The team also advises extensively on cross-border employment law and corporate immigration law (global mobility). Partners Jonas Lindblad and Magnus Wiktorson are spearheading the team, and each one of them has over 15 years’ experience providing complex employment law advice with a pragmatic approach.
Intellectual property: NORDIA Law’s office in Gothenburg has established itself as a highly efficient and competitive IP practice rivalling any firm on the market. The IP team is led by Fredrik Persson, who has more than 20 years of IP experience. Our trademark business is focused on the full life cycle of our clients’ trademarks, not only a specific part thereof. We provide full-service filing and prosecution services (locally as well as worldwide), licencing and contracts, and finally contentious work in opposition, litigation, and infringement matters. Notably, our trademark has consistently, over the years, been filing sheer volumes well in line with much larger firms, but with a lean and mean approach to matters, giving more cost-effective assistance to our clients. We are, to put it briefly, punching way above our weight in all trademark-related matters. Adding our contentious matters to the mix, ranging from IPO matters such as oppositions and cancellations to infringement matters in the Swedish Patent and Market Court, we are a player to be reckoned with in all things IP. Being part of a general business law firm, our IP department also has its feet securely planted in the soil of our client’s business, never forgetting that our client’s intellectual property are not their for their own sake but to serve our client’s business purposes. Hence, while putting our extensive expertise on IP matters to work, we always make sure that our advice makes sense and gives real value to our clients’ businesses. Our transactional and licencing practices also bear witness to this, in particular in relation to complex software-related licence matters and work on specialised research and development agreements. We strive at all times to combine our high level of specialist knowledge with never losing sight of the big picture.
Family law: NORDIA Law has extensive experience in the field of financial planning for private individuals, such as the management, protection, and transfer of assets to future generations. Our expertise includes administration of estates, wills and testaments, prenuptial agreements, business and real estate succession, establishment of foundations, and inheritance issues.
