Career

Andrej is acting as Managing Partner at M&S Partners Law Firm while still heading the Real estate, Corporate/Commercial and Banking & Finance teams. As one of the founders of the company, he has also for many years advised in matters related to PPP projects, regulatory compliance, antitrust, arbitration, environment, public procurement and other practice areas, as well. He advises international clients in major corporate and project finance transactions and assists foreign investors in mergers and acquisitions in Croatia.

During his career Andrej has been a leader or a member of legal teams working on some of the most significant privatization procedures of state – owned enterprises in the Republic of Croatia, as well as the largest infrastructure projects such as highways and bridges construction that took place in the early 2000’s.

Real estate investment part of the firm, especially in FDI’s, is something that Andrej is really proud of. As the young nation grew to maturity a clear focus on real estate investment became apparent. As the market grew and developed so did the firm. We have walked through the challenges of the Croatian market hand in hand with our clients through the wave of large privatizations of former state-owned hotel companies, first realized brownfield projects in ROC and a complex web of challenges of greenfield projects, be it on the coast or on the mainland. We have been down the road of changes of the zoning and permitting laws and advised both clients and local government when passing those changes. MS partners advises clients from when they first arrive at the international terminal to the point of the grand opening of their new resort, business, shopping mall or new production plant. MSpartners prouds itself of having a deep understanding of client’s real estate projects not only on legal, but also on business side of things, providing the best tailor-made solution for each specific project.

Still in his late 20’s Andrej was a member of the board of the Croatian Bar Association and subsequently he became a Bar delegated member to the council of the Supreme court of the Republic of Croatia. In 2017 he became a member of ‘’Polazista i perspektive’’, a first working think tank in the ROC and led the panel on the strategic approach of the Croatian nautical tourism industry. In 2020 when the pandemic hit, he was one of the founding members of an NGO, comprised of Croatian companies that took upon themselves to advise the government on how to face the challenges of the new reality. He has been serving as a board member on that NGO for more than a year. This NGO today counts more than 17.500 Croatian companies as their members. As a devastating earthquake hit Zagreb in early 2020 it became apparent that the repercussions of this tragedy are overwhelming not only for the citizens but also for the authorities, and a group of like-minded local people, all experts in their various fields of business, formed ‘’SOS Zagreb’’, an NGO dedicated to the appropriate and timely reconstruction of our capital city, through constructive proposals of the amendments to applicable laws, public oversight of the actions taken by the authorities and cooperation with all stakeholders interested to receive their support. Andrej is proud to serve as a supervisory board member of this NGO. Andrej is a passionate sailor and is a member of the board of the Croatian ORC sailing federation and a veteran of multiple, Croatian, European and world sailing championships.
