Career

Ognjen Colić is a senior counsel and the head of Corporate / M&A practice at Gecić Law in Belgrade.  His practice focuses on Corporate / M&A, Energy, Infrastructure & PPP, Commercial Agreements, Labor and Regulatory Compliance.

Recently, Ognjen co-authored the first-ever Serbia chapter of the Transnational Litigation Guide, published by Thomson Reuters. The most recent guide offers comprehensive overview and detailed analysis of litigation procedure and includes detailed information covering topics such as: structure of courts, obtaining jurisdiction and choice of forum, service of process, commencement of suit, summary judgements and equivalent proceedings, review of transnational judgements, damages etc.(link). 

Ognjen has more than ten years of practice in Serbia and the region.  He advised a number of leading international and local corporations in some of the most significant privatizations, M&A transactions, local and cross-border, energy and industry license issues, PPPs and regulatory compliance issues in Serbia and the Western Balkans.  Ognjen’s experience includes advising on the very first PPP project structured in Serbia and the first RES power plant project in Montenegro, where he also acted on a number of high-profile acquisitions in the metals and mining industry.  His extensive industry experience includes energy, mining, commercial, food, IT, marketing, advertising and others.  In addition, his practice includes providing regular support and advice to civil society organizations engaged in the protection of digital rights, privacy and civil rights on the internet.

Ognjen earned his law degree from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law (LL.M., 2006, cum laude).  He is a member of the Belgrade Bar Association, Serbia.

    The Montenegrin Government plans to publish a tender for the lease of state land for the purpose of constructing a solar power plant in the municipality of Ulcinj. According to the announcement, the tender envisages a total of 6,621,121 square meters of land for the planning, construction, exploitation, and maintenance of a solar power plant at Briska gora, in the very south of Montenegro.
