Career

Max von Frantzius has more than 20 years’ experience in investment fund, M&A and corporate finance law. He mainly advises private equity, real estate and venture capital as well as general partners in structuring, setting-up (incl. Supervisory Authority (CSSF) approval process) and managing their alternative investment funds in Luxembourg. Overall, Max specialises in legal and regulatory aspects of Luxembourg investment fund work and cross-border issues. He has also developed in-depth knowledge and recognised expertise in negotiating investment fund related agreements such as investment management agreements, side letters, agreements with fund administrators and custodian banks.

Before joining CM Law in 2019, Max worked 5 years in the Luxembourg branch of Big 4 Company and its network law firm. Prior to that, he spent 10 years as Head of Legal and Member of the Executive Board of a German private bank in Luxembourg and 7 years as a Lawyer in Luxembourg and French law firms. Max is a Lawyer admitted to the Bars of Luxembourg (list IV), Cologne and Paris.

During his career, Max took part in diverse innovative projects linked to bio-economy, microfinance and the maritime sector. He has also developed strong relationships with European institutions, institutional lenders, portfolio managers, financial services providers and law firms worldwide.
