Position

Stefanie Tack is a partner in our Employment & Benefits practice.

She advises clients on all aspects of individual and collective labour law. With more than 15 years’ experience, she has obtained significant experience in labour and employment law in various sectors and industries, such as the retail, automotive, chemical, construction, hospitality, technology, and food industries.

Stefanie is known for her hands-on and practical approach. She is experienced in providing tailor-made advice to her clients, and, more specifically, she advises clients on the general employment policy of the company, the hiring of personnel and the termination of employment contracts (including the implementation of individual dismissals and career-end scenarios), drafting employment-related documents and specific clauses, compensation and (extralegal) benefits, employees’ representative bodies within the company, social elections and protected employees, health and safety at work, company restructuring (collective dismissals and closures), and the labour and employment law aspects of M&A transactions. Over the years, she has developed specific expertise in advising companies on the implementation of internal whistleblower processes and procedures.

Stefanie also has experience in negotiating with counterparties and trade unions, assisting clients within the framework of social inspections, performing internal HR audits, and litigating before the Belgian courts. She frequently authors legal articles and is often invited to speak at conferences and seminars.

Stefanie is a member of the VPG (Vlaams Pleitgenootschap of the Brussels Bar), the AIJA (Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats), the EELA (European Employment Lawyers Association), the VSR (Vereniging Sociaal Recht of the Brussels Bar) and the IBA (International Bar Association).

She is also a member of the Education Board and a voluntary academic assistant of the Social Law Practice of the Free University of Brussels (VUB), a board member of the Vlaams Pleitgenootschap (VPG) of the Brussels bar, and an active member of various national and international associations.

Education

Stefanie obtained a Master’s degree in law and an Expert Class in Professional (Sport) Management at Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

Stefanie Tack – Strelia

Under the leadership employment practitioner Stefanie Tack, who took over the practice leadership in early 2023, Strelia is capable of handling a large volume of employee transfers and terminations in the context of corporate restructurings and also advises a growing number of clients on whistleblowing matters. The team also acts for its base of Belgian and multinational clients in contentious matters, including criminal investigations as well as discrimination and harassment claims. Pauline Van Parys, who advises on discrimination, remuneration and collective bargaining matters, is a further name to note.
