Career
Maria is the Head of our M&A and Corporate practice. She specializes in general corporate transactions, M&A and agriculture. She has advised numerous clients on corporate governance matters, restructuring of large organizations, upstream and downstream mergers, spin-offs and acquisitions on and outside regulated markets.
In the last few years, Maria has acted for a series of large international investors in relation to their commercial and real estate activities. She is a leading specialist in agriculture and farming issues in Romania.
A Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP-I), Maria has worked on numerous compliance matters as well as on fraud and employee malfeasance cases, including investigations of possible violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and matters before the Romanian anti-corruption authority (the DNA).
Maria is an expert in data protection, privacy and the General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”). Since the GDPR regulation has come into force, Maria as worked on a series of major projects for numerous industries, including insurance, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and agriculture.
