Career

Madalena is an senior counsel in the Banking and Finance and Corporate M&A practices. In recent years, she has focused on, civil law, commercial law and securities law.

She has a PhD from Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and has been a guest lecturer at this faculty since 2011. She was also a lecturer at the Católica School of Business and Economics. Besides this, Madalena is a researcher at the Centre for Private Law Research of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and a member of Governance Lab.

At the same faculty, she attended the master’s course in legal sciences and the postgraduate course in securities law organised by the Securities Institute.

Madalena is the co-head of various postgraduate courses (in corporate finance, corporate governance, insolvency law and corporate recovery), intensive courses (in investment funds, digital corporate finance and breach of contract), and scientific symposiums (in venture capital and capital markets).

She speaks regularly on various courses, postgraduate courses and conferences, and has also published scientific articles and monographs in her areas of study.

She began her career at PLMJ in 2015 and returned to the firm in 2020 after submitting her PhD thesis.
