Position

Kinza enjoys a successful practice across the full range of property law, including those matters which cross over into the traditional chancery areas such as Trusts of Land.

Regularly acting for private individuals, companies, institutional investors and local authorities, Kinza brings a well-rounded skill set to her practice, ensuring thorough and effective representation for her clients.

Kinza is a skilled advocate and an accredited mediator, who is known for her robust and tenacious advocacy and empathetic approach with clients.

In the Landlord and Tenant sphere, Kinza is regularly instructed on matters such as possession actions, forfeiture, injunctions and disrepair.

In the more traditional land and chancery areas, Kinza has experience in trespass, easements, nuisance, boundary issues, TOLATA and cohabitation disputes.

Whilst Kinza’s practice is predominantly property, she also enjoys a discrete practice in commercial law. Often instructed in contract disputes, specifically those involving equine matters. She accepts instructions in partnerships disputes and misrepresentation. She appears in the High Court (Rolls Building) to present winding-up petitions and deals with bankruptcy proceedings.

Beyond practice, Kinza is committed to advancing equality and diversity at the Bar. She is a mentor on the Future Bar Programme and often a panellist at events designed to encourage inclusivity within the profession.

Expertise
Residential Landlord and Tenant and Housing

Kinza regularly handles both commercial and residential landlord and tenant matters.

She is routinely instructed on private and social housing possession claims. Her expertise includes securing possession orders, injunctions, forfeiture as well as relief from forfeiture, amongst other housing related issues.  She is frequently instructed at an early stage to assist on drafting pleadings and providing written advice. She is highly skilled in defending cases involving the Equality Act 2010.

She is often instructed by local authorities and housing associations for:

  • Possession actions
  • Anti-social behaviour injunctions
  • Access injunctions
  • Committals
  • Closure orders under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014

Kinza also handles appellant work, including drafting statements of case and representing clients in homelessness appeals.

Commercial Landlord and Tenant

Kinza accepts instructions in commercial landlord and tenant matters. She provides advice and representation in matters relating to possession and forfeiture, including claims for relief, lease renewals and service charge disputes.

Coownership and Trusts of Land

Kinza has experience in advising and representing clients in co-ownership and TOLATA disputes. She represents clients in both the County Court and specialist tribunals, including the First-tier Tribunal Property Chamber. She is adept at dealing with matters pertaining to proprietary estoppel and/or constructive trust.

Land and Boundaries

Kinza has handled a wide range of land and boundary disputes, including those involving easements, interpretation of restrictive covenants in title deeds, trespass and nuisance. She has acted as an advocate in mediation whereby she successfully achieved her clients’ objectives in a boundary dispute matter without embarking upon litigation.
