Career

Dewi, who was made partner on 1 January 2009, focuses her practice on mergers & acquisitions (M&A), foreign direct investment (FDI), competition/antitrust, and capital markets.

In M&A and FDI, she advises high-end domestic and international clients operating in various sectors including agriculture & plantations, trading, multi-level-marketing, automotive and groundside aviation. She has particular experience working with clients from South Korea, China, US and EU. Last year, she was joint head of the ABNR team that handled Grab’s acquisition of Uber’s Southeast Asia assets, the largest deal ever of its kind in the region. In addition, she jointly led the team that worked on the Indonesian aspects of Global Infrastructure Partners’ USD 5 billion acquisition of Equis Energy, the largest renewable energy deal ever.

She is also head of ABNR’s competition/antitrust practice, where she focuses on cartel, dominant-position, and merger-control matters for multinational clients and international and regional law firms, including advising on deal structuring to avoid triggering mandatory post-notification. With the Indonesian Competition Authority (KPPU) now actively monitoring the impacts of overseas MCA transactions on the Indonesian market, she is increasingly called on to advise on foreign-to-foreign deals. In addition, she has provided compliance training to a number of major multinational companies. She recently advised on the competition aspects of South Korea-based LG International’s acquisition of two Indonesian palm oil companies.

In capital markets, she specializes in offshore debt and equity offerings by Indonesian companies and multinational corporations with operations in Indonesia. She led the ABNR team that handled Indonesian state-owned energy company PT Pertamina (Persero)’s issuance of USD 750 million of 6.5% Senior Notes due 2048 that were listed on the Singapore Exchange in November 2018. She is currently advising an Indonesian state-sponsored infrastructure finance company and a number of Indonesian banks on capital-markets transactions involving bond and right issues, and private placements.

Dewi is recommended for corporate and M&A, capital markets, and antitrust and competition by the Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2019, and is recognized by Vantage Asia / Asia Business Law Journal as one of Indonesia’s top-100 lawyers.
