Guerrero Olivos ‘highly-capable lawyers ’ are consistently mandated to advise owners, developers and operators of renewable energy projects, such as wind and solar, as well as thermal power plants and liquefied natural gas terminals. The 18-strong team’s expertise covers energy generation, transmission, and distribution projects, and it has particular experience in negotiating power purchase agreements. It also advises on green hydrogen matters; is increasingly involved in battery storage projects; fields experts in environmental, water, corporate and finance law; and assists with regulatory issues, such as energy and transmission planning, rule-making processes, public bids and disputes. Co-leading the full-service department, Clemente Pérez is a veteran adviser to domestic and international clients on transactional and regulatory energy matters; regulatory expert Sebastián Abogabir's expertise includes both solar energy and green hydrogen projects, and he additionally assists with the acquisition and sale of energy projects and assets; Felipe Frühling, in turn, is notably active in the non-conventional energy sector, his experience encompassing solar, wind, battery storage and green hydrogen. In a boost to the practice, former senior associate Francisca Pellegrini, who advises on energy-related regulatory issues, was made partner in January 2025. Associate Joaquín Rojas is also a key member of the firm’s energy and natural resources group.
