Part of the firm’s judicial group, Barros & Errázuriz‘s insolvency practice is widely respected for its expertise in bankruptcy and restructuring. ’Combining solid legal experience with innovative solutions’, the practice’s track record ranges from judicial and non-judicial reorganisations, to contentious bankruptcy law-related proceedings. Acting for both debtors and creditors, the group is also experienced in acquiring the assets of companies that are undergoing liquidation or reorganisation procedures. The four-member team is led by current professor of insolvency law at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, Javier San Martín, a dispute resolution specialist whose specialisms encompass bankruptcy, along with contractual law, construction, consumer law and commercial issues. The practice further includes litigation and insolvency expert José Luis Corvalán; and in the firm’s associate ranks, senior Milton Gutcovsky assists debtors and creditors with reorganisations and liquidations, while Alexis Cespedes also has extensive experience in insolvency procedures.
