Pensions seminars 2000
Hammond Suddards will hold Pensions Seminars this spring on the theme of scheme costs and their containment. A series of three half-day events will cover Scheme Design and Investment, Practical scheme management and sources of scheme costs. The dates will be 21 March, 16 May and 27 June in London, 28 March, 23 May and 5 July in Leeds and 23 March, 18 May and 29 June in Manchester. Speakers will include Jane Marshall, Andrew Powell, Catherine McKenna and Andrew Ashley Taylor. Newcastle
We were delighted with the reception of our one-day Trustee Essentials Seminar held in Newcastle on 25 November. The Newcastle University Law School hosted the event, chaired by Jane Marshall, Hammond Suddards' National Head of Pensions. It was well attended by a mixture of trustees or pensions personnel from existing north-eastern clients and from other companies in the region. Other attendees came from as far afield as Glasgow. Our thanks go to all the delegates who participated so enthusiastically.
We regard raising our presence in the north east as part of our service to existing and potential clients and to help raise the profile of the unit in an area of the country that has often had to look south for similar events. The unit will be holding a further seminar in Newcastle in 2000.

Hammond Suddards will be arranging several one-off seminars during 2000. We propose to revisit the theme of disputes and their resolution that was the focus of our major seminar programme last year. This will allow us to provide an update as there have been several changes in the law relating to this topic and also to review developments in practice that we have encountered.
