Guillermo Cañas, a professional tennis player from Argentina, is seeking to annul a European Commission decision of 12 October 2009. The Commission had rejected, on the ground of insufficient Community interest, a complaint made by Mr Cañas against certain professional bodies for allegedly breaching EU antitrust laws when applying anti-doping rules.

The original complaint was made against the World Anti-doping Agency (WAA), ATP Tour Inc. (ATP) and the International Council of Arbitration for Sport (ICAS), who together draft, apply and validate the World Anti-doping code. Mr Cañas alleged that the anti-doping rules and their application breached Article 101 and/or Article 102 of the TFEU.
