中国国家知識産権局（CNIPA）の最近の発表によると、2023年、中国で権利が付与された特許は92万1000件に達し、前年同期比で15.4%の増加を記録した。同様に、権利が付与された実用新案は209万件、意匠は63.8万件となっている。また、商標登録数は438万3000件、集積回路配置図設計の登録数は1万1300件、地理的表示（GI）専用標識の使用が許可された経営主体は5842社に達した。
さらに、2023年に中国は国際特許出願においても活発な動きを見せた。PCT（特許協力条約）を通じての国際特許出願は7万3812件、意匠の国際登録に関するハーグ協定を通じての国際出願は1166件（1月から11月まで）、マドリード商標国際登録出願は6196件に上った。
知的財産権の運用面では、2023年、全国の専利商標担保融資額は8539億9000万元に達し、前年同期比で75.4%の増加を示した。この制度を利用して資金調達を行った企業は3万7000社に及ぶ。また、特許開放許諾は1万7000件を達成した。さらに、2023年1月から11月の間に、中国の知的財産権使用料の輸出入総額は3345億元に達した。
