Le ministre des Finances Jim Flaherty s'enorgueillit du nombre de mesures d'intégrité qu'il a introduites depuis 2006. En effet, rappelons que le budget de 2013 mettait de l'avant plus de 75 mesures dont l'objectif consistait à « améliorer l'intégrité et à éliminer les échappatoires fiscales ». Rien de surprenant, de la part d'un ministre qui s'est attiré des critiques pour la fermeture de fonds de revenu, il y a déjà près de 10 ans de cela.

Fidèle à lui-même, le budget de 2014 du ministre Flaherty s'inscrit encore dans la foulée de la poursuite de l'intégrité fiscale. L'envergure des « mesures d'intégrité et d'équité » introduites par le gouvernement du Canada depuis 2010 est impressionnante. Il est prévu que les économies budgétaires totales pour toutes ces mesures de l'exercice financier de 2010-2011 à l'exercice financier de 2018-2019 excèdent les 23 milliards $.
