Second Round Of Invitations For Parent And Grandparent Program To Be Issued September 6th, 2017

September 5, 2017 -  It was announced that Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), will invite more potential sponsors of parents and grandparents to submit an application under the Sponsorship of Parents and Grandparents Program. Invitations will be sent to potential sponsors beginning on September 6, 2017. This is the second round of invitations to take place this year. Potential sponsors who were not invited to apply in the first round, now have a second chance of being invited to apply.

The upcoming invitation round is restricted to potential sponsors who submitted an 'Interest to Sponsor' form in January 2017, but who have not yet been invited to apply. These potential sponsors will have until December 8, 2017, to submit their complete sponsorship applications to IRCC. If sponsors received an email invitation to apply for sponsorship, and the application was not received by December 8, 2017, the applications will not be part of the 2017 intake.
