The Ontario Securities Commission has published the agenda for a dialogue to be held on November 2, 2016, entitled "The Game has Changed". The slated topics centre on FinTech and the disruption of the financial industry.

Change has been a running theme for the OSC this Fall - Chair and CEO, Maureen Jensen's keynote address to the Toronto Region Board of Trade employed the mantra "the status quo is not an option".

In addition to the best interest proposal, the OSC expects to release a consultation paper later this year that will outline the foreseeable impact of banning embedded mutual fund fees.

These proposals arrive at the heels of this summer's implementation of the OSC's Whistleblower Program, which has already incited over 30 tips.
