On March 1, 2022, Australian Mud Company Pty Ltd. of Australia ("AMC") and Reflex USA LLC of Chandler, Arizona ("Reflex") (collectively, "Complainants") filed a complaint requesting that the ITC commence an investigation pursuant to section 337.

The complaint alleges that the following proposed respondents (collectively, "Respondents") unlawfully import into the U.S., sell for importation, and/or sell within the U.S. after importation certain core orientation systems, components thereof, and products containing the same that are used to determine the orientation of a core drilled from the earth in a manner that that infringes U.S. Patent No. 7,584,055 ("the '055 patent):
