    Stephen has 18 years experience as a solicitor prior to converting to the Bar, working predominantly in the North East.

    Stephen’s primary area of interest and expertise is in Family law. He acts in public law cases for local authorities, individuals and on behalf of children. He is a former member of the Law Society Children Panel.

    Stephen deals with all aspects of private children law and has regularly appeared in the Family Proceedings Court, the County Court and the District Registry. Such matters often involved issues of sexual abuse, domestic violence, mental health, non accidental injury and or vulnerable individuals including the Court of Protection. His practice includes both securing and contesting injunctions as against individuals and assets.

Memberships

Stephen is a member of the Advisory Panel to the charity, Safe Families for Children (SFFC), offering guidance on all aspects of the operation including governance, safeguarding and best practice. SFFC offers a wide range of support to families enabling parents and carers to provide a stable family life for their children.
