Position

Andrew has practised as a solicitor since 1977, initially as a general practitioner, gaining wide experience in all mainstream areas of law.  Since the 1980s he has specialised in litigation and now practises exclusively in the field of property related litigation with a particular focus on disputes involving interests in real property. He is renowned for his expertise in dealing with party wall disputes and claims arising from rights of light infringements and has acted in many of the leading cases in those fields including appeals in the High Court and the Court of Appeal. He is co-author of Party Walls, Law and Practice, 4th Edition, published by Lexis Nexis and lectures frequently to party wall surveyors and rights of light surveyors on the law in those fields . His expertise extends to disputes relating to easements, restrictive covenants, access to neighbouring land, nuisance, boundary disputes and property related professional negligence.

Andrew’s clients include developers as well as owners of land affected by property development, some of whom are high profile. He is comfortable dealing with substantial and complex cases but equally at home when called upon to advise clients on domestic disputes.  His non-confrontational style is highly effective in achieving his clients’ objectives.
