Position

Anna has a broad commercial practice, with a particular emphasis on insurance (in which she is a leading junior) and international arbitration.  She is regularly involved in high profile cases and has appeared in the Commercial Court, the Court of Appeal and the Privy Council in a wide variety of disputes, as well as in many international arbitrations (including LMAA, LCIA and ICC).   Anna also has a strong advisory practice, with a loyal following of solicitors who frequently seek her advice on complex commercial issues including policy coverage and validity, professional negligence and sanctions.

Anna is currently engaged by Reed Smith LLP in well-publicised proceedings involving Barclays Bank PLC and in a significant product liability insurance arbitration.  Other highlighted cases include: Quadra Commodities SA v XL Insurance Company SE, now the leading case on insurable interest; Mamancochet Mining Ltd v Aegis Managing Agency Ltd (and others) addressing the impact of US sanctions against Iran; and Aircraft Purchase Fleet Limited v Compagnia Aerea Italiana S.p.A., concerning the lease of aircraft to the former operator of the Alitalia airline.
