Joe is a sought-after junior with a successful practice in commercial litigation and arbitration, insurance, shipping and commodities and civil fraud.

Joe is regularly instructed in very high-value disputes. Recent work includes a USD 500 million civil fraud arbitration, a USD 250 million LNG arbitration, a USD 100 million Commercial Court dispute now on appeal to the Court of Appeal (Sahara v Sonara [2024] EWHC 3163 (Comm)) and a complex reinsurance dispute (RSA v Equitas).

He also frequently appears as sole counsel. Recent instructions include a 3-day LMAA arbitration under a voyage charterparty and a week-long trial in relation to claims under a management agreement for a well-known creative. He has particular expertise in international arbitration, including arbitration applications in the Commercial Court, having previously worked in international arbitration at a leading US firm.
