Elisenda prosecutes and defends in a wide range of criminal cases.

Elisenda is on the CPS General Crime Advocate Panel at Level 1. Elisenda has experience of prosecuting jury trials, appeals against both conviction and sentence, PTPHs and sentencing hearings involving multiple defendants.

During pupillage, Elisenda got leave from a Single Judge and successfully appealed a sentence in the Court of Appeal, leading to the client’s immediate release from custody.

Elisenda successfully completed pupillage at 5 St Andrew’s Hill under the supervision of Allister Walker, David Williams and John Oliver.

Prior to starting pupillage, Elisenda was a paralegal at a private criminal defence firm where she assisted with a broad range of criminal defence, regulatory and military proceedings.

Before coming to the Bar, Elisenda worked for an MP where she undertook a variety of roles, including successfully challenging negative coronavirus grant decisions on behalf of local businesses. Elisenda has also worked for a Police and Crime Commissioner where she gained extensive knowledge of the working practices of the police.

During her time at the University of Bristol, she helped deliver Achieving Best Evidence (ABE) training to Detective Constables in Avon and Somerset Police.

Career

Elisenda has a busy defence practice and is regularly instructed in the Crown Court and Magistrates’ Court.

Elisenda regularly accepts instructions to prosecute cases on behalf of the Crown Prosecution Service and Probation Service and continues to build upon her experience prosecuting in the Crown Court.
