Position

Bridget is an experienced criminal barrister who practises in all areas of serious crime. In recent years, Bridget's practice has focused on her prosecution work for the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and other prosecution bodies and agencies.

Bridget has a busy prosecution practice and is regularly instructed by the CPS including the RASSO unit. Her practice covers serious and complex cases ranging from conspiracy to murder, armed robbery, drugs, violent offences, fraud, human trafficking to serious sexual offences including rape and historic abuse.

Career

Bridget was called to the Bar in 1996. Grade 4 Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) Panel Advocate (London and South East). CPS Rape and Serious Sexual Assault specialist panel advocate.

Bridget receives instructions in the most serious criminal cases.

Bridget is often instructed in complex historic and current sexual offences.  Her preparation of these cases involves a careful review of significant amounts of medical/mental health and social services records.  She provides clear and concise advice.  She also has experience in dealing with trials involving young and vulnerable witnesses, intermediaries and other professionals.

Bridget is also instructed in serious complex case work and she frequently  prosecutes importation offences ranging from drugs, tobacco, firearms to human trafficking.

R v D [2025] Double attempted murder Jealous defendant repeatedly stabbed his friend in the abdomen before turning and stabbing her new partner to the face and torso in a frenzied attack which occurred in the town centre. He also caused serious injury to male who attempted to come to their aid. Sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 13 years

R v I [2025] Sex offences against 2 sisters Teenage defendant committed multiple rapes and sexual offences against his 2 younger sisters in their own home. Abuse went on over a number of years.

R v A & W [2024] Stabbing-drugs Defendant convicted after trial of s18, stabbing in a revenge attack on victim. Defendant chased V from an alleyway. V locked himself in a van. Defendant broke into the van and dragged V then stabbed him during a rapid assault involving the co-defendant. V left with multiple stab wounds.

R v R [2024] Incest Defendant convicted after of multiple counts of incest with his step sister. Large age gap between them and offences occurred in her own home.

R v B [2024] Historic sexual offences Defendant convicted after trial of historic offences of buggery and indecent assault against a young boy who he befriended through a local community group.

Drugs [2024] Defendant convicted together with 3 others of conspiracy to supply multiple kilos of Class A drugs using an encrypted phone. Case involved analysis of multiple mobile phone downloads, cells site data and also included legal argument on the use of an encrypted device.

R v H [2023] Successful prosecution of multiple counts of sexual activity with a child aged 14.

R v T [2022] Successful prosecuted an 85 year old defendant for historic rape on 3 complainants. Defendant had an intermediary.

R v C [2022] Defendant [19] convicted of sexual activity with a child. Vulnerable victim. Case involved large amounts of social media and phone material.

R v J [2022] Successfully prosecuted defendant who had stabbed the victim multiple times in a revenge attack.

R v A [2022] Defendant charged with child neglect of his 4 children. All 4 children gave evidence, youngest was 6. Convicted on all counts. Intermediary used with 2 of the youngest children.

R v X [2022] Prosecution of an importation of vast quantities of cocaine through europe into the uk. Involved calling tachograph expert.

R v M & Others [2021] Prosecution junior in a 4 handed conspiracy to supply class a involving encrochat. And complex cell site material

R v M [2021] Successful prosecution of defendant charged with rape and multiple assaults against his partner. Dealt with complex medical findings, phone material and a traumatised victim.

R v C [2021] Successful prosecution of c for inciting sexual activity with a girl under the age of 10.

R v I & M [2019] Successful prosecution of a double rape of a vulnerable woman in her own home. One of the defendants was a stranger the other was known to her.
