Will Durrands

Position

Will has experience across all areas of Criminal law, Extradition, Regulatory matters (particularly those involving the Solicitors Regulation Authority) and Public Law. Known for his clear, strategic advice and persuasive trial advocacy, he is frequently instructed in cases beyond his year of call. He has acted in cases involving serious violence, firearms, and organised crime, both as a led junior and as a junior alone. Will has a particular interest in cases involving abuse of process.

More recently, Will was part of the defence team in what was then the highest value private prosecution to date. Following that he worked almost exclusively with those arrested and prosecuted following the Extinction Rebellion demonstrations in 2018/19. This work included a Judicial Review of the CPS' charging decisions.

Career

Prior to joining Chambers, Will gained several years of experience as a paralegal at two leading London firms specialising in criminal defence and human rights.
