Laurence practices in Civil law and Chancery including:

Laurence is qualified to accept instructions under the Bar Council Public Access scheme.

2024: Current Issues in Modest Asset Cases: Part 1. Considered two issues (i) What’s in the Pot? ‘matrimonialisation’ after Standish v Standish [2024] EWCA 567 and (ii) The ‘Chimera’ Problem - Family Loans & Resources

2025: Current Issues in Modest Asset Cases: Part 2. Consideration of (i) Conduct (ii) Costs and (iii) Non-Court Dispute Resolution.

Both seminars co-presented with Elizabeth Wark.

Laurence enjoys contributing to student training at Gray’s Inn and, in 2025, helped judge the University of Greenwich Moot competition.

He works with the charity Bridging the Bar to mentor aspirant barristers from non-traditional backgrounds.

Before transferring to the Bar, Laurence worked in procurement, gaining extensive experience of business negotiation. He has chaired a charity and worked directly with countless vulnerable and homeless people.

His communication skills, and his sensitive yet determined approach are appreciated by both clients and tribunals.
