Liesbeth Buiter

Liesbeth Buiter is Partner and leads the Amsterdam Real Estate practice specialising in real estate transactions, with a focus on pan-European real estate transactions, covering all asset classes (residential, hospitality, logistics and office space) and major (re)development projects. She co-leads the Projects group with a particular focus on (project financed) renewable energy and infrastructure deals. She joined the firm in 2008, having trained and qualified at CMS. She has spent time working in the Paris office, and is qualified in the Netherlands.

Gregory Crookes

Greg Crookes specialises in leveraged buy-outs, corporate carve-outs and other complex M&A. He acts for a range of private equity and corporate clients and financial institutions, is known for being hands-on dealmaker without losing sight of the big picture, and has substantial experience on both the buy-side and sell-side.

Tjerk de Jonge specialises in corporate transactions and fund & investment management transactions. He mainly advises international and domestic private equity firms and corporates on a wide range of transactions, including acquisitions and disposals, leveraged buyouts, takeovers, mergers, joint ventures and corporate restructurings, the establishment of investment funds, fund investments, separate managed accounts, carried interest schemes, as well as day-to-day counselling of public and private companies on a wide range of matters.

Folko de Vries focuses on leveraged finance. He acts for sponsors and lenders. Folko has recently worked on a significant number of direct lending transactions and public-to-private transactions. As partner made responsible for Innovation for the Amsterdam office, Folko is focused on a daily basis on new ways of working to best support our clients and their businesses.

Titus de Vries is Managing Partner of Clifford Chance Amsterdam and partner in Global Financial Markets. He has extensive experience in financing transactions with particular experience in leveraged finance, real estate and infrastructure finance and corporate lending (both syndicated and club deals, both domestic and cross border). He acts for lenders as well as borrowers.

Dirk-Jan Duynstee

Dirk-Jan Duynstee heads the Litigation Department of Clifford Chance in Amsterdam. Dirk-Jan specialises in corporate and securities litigation, including directors' liability, governance issues, public take-over disputes, shareholder disputes and squeeze out proceeding. Dirk-Jan also has vast experience in banking and finance litigation. Dirk-Jan often acts before the Enterprise Chamber and is a member of our global risk leadership team.

Vincent is a managing associate in the Amsterdam Financial Markets group. He specialises in asset-backed finance transactions and transactional banking and advises a broad range of (international) corporations and financial institutions, such as issuers, arrangers, agents, lenders and borrowers on both public and private transactions, including structured notes, covered bonds, securitisations, warehouse financing arrangements and lending platforms as well as acquisition finance, real estate finance and loan portfolio sales.

Nolan Groenland

Nolan Groenland specialises in the taxation of corporate and financing transactions with particular emphasis on M&A, (structured) finance, tax controversy and international taxation. He has ample experience with the full range of financial products including lending, acquisition finance, real estate finance, asset finance, project finance, derivatives, insolvency & restructuring and structured finance, especially securitization, tax controversy & policy and (debt & equity) capital markets, as well as executive remuneration and dismissal issues.

Tim Heerschop specialises in private and public M&A, private equity, management participation and corporate advisory work. He advises both international and domestic private equity firms and their portfolio companies, financial institutions and corporates on sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions, public offers, joint ventures, restructurings and various other corporate matters. Tim is also experienced in transactions in the energy and renewables sector.

Jelle Hofland is a partner in the Global Financial Markets and co-heads the Amsterdam Restructuring practice. He is one of the most experienced finance lawyers in The Netherlands and specialises in (layered) leveraged finance transactions, syndicated lending and complex restructurings. Jaap Koster

Pieter Leefers specialises in private M&A, private equity, management participation and corporate advisory work. He advises both international and domestic private equity firms and their portfolio companies, financial institutions and corporates on sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions, joint ventures, restructurings and various other corporate matters. Pieter is also experienced in transactions in the TMT, infrastructure, real estate, energy and renewables sector.

Angela McEwan is an English qualified Partner and heads the Global Financial Markets in Amsterdam. Angela is also a member of the global ESG Board. She specialises in banking and secured finance, with particular expertise in syndicated lending, structured finance, acquisition finance, project finance, renewables, asset based finance, commodity finance and restructurings including development finance and impact and sustainability linked loan financings. Angela is the Africa Practice Leader for Green Financing.

Mike Niekoop is part of the Global Financial Markets group. He specializes in project finance (with a strong focus on renewable energy), digital infrastructure finance (including data centres, towers and fibre) and asset finance. Mike combines deep sector knowledge in renewables (including offshore, onshore, solar, wind, biomass, tidal wave and battery storage), aviation and infrastructure finance with legal skills and pragmatic advice. He has advised energy firms, banks, lenders, sponsors, institutional investors and aviation companies and lessors across several domestic and cross-border project & asset based transactions. Marina Sarkisjan

Marina Sarkisjan specialises in financial regulatory matters (with respect to market access of financial institutions, license requirements, compliance with prudential and market conduct rules, securities trading and investment services) and debt capital markets offerings across a wide product range, including MTNs, Eurobonds, Reg S/144A, senior and subordinated debt issuances for corporates and financial institutions.

Marian Scheele specialises in the financial regulatory and legal aspects of financial institutions, with a focus on Fintechs (incl. banks, EMIs, PSPs, platforms, crypto and blockchain companies). She leads the Fintech Team and co-leads the Tech Team of Clifford Chance Amsterdam. Her expertise includes advising on licensing and registration, governance, structure and organisation and other ongoing license requirements. She is frequently involved in corporate restructurings and M&A transactions including IPOs. She contributes to the implementation of EU financial regulatory law in Dutch national law. Daan Lunsingh Scheurleer

Daan Lunsingh Scheurleer specialises in complex international litigation and dispute resolution with a focus on class actions. He frequently represents issuers, financial institutions, audit firms and companies as defence counsel in class action and multiparty litigation, relating to securities, prospectus liability, fraud, financial products, auditor liability and cartel damage claims, including the private international law aspects of those matters.

Michiel Sunderman

Michiel Sunderman is Partner and head of the Amsterdam Tax practice. He is an all-round tax expert, specialising in M&A, financial restructurings, fund structuring (with a focus on private equity and carried interest structuring), corporate, cross border and structured finance transactions.

Han Teerink specialises in equity capital markets transactions, in particular IPOs, secondary share issuances and buy-back transactions, advising issuers, selling shareholders and underwriting banks. Evert Verwey is Counsel in the Amsterdam Litigation practice and part of the Restructuring and Insolvency team of Clifford Chance Amsterdam. He specializes in insolvency-related matters, contentious restructuring and work-out scenarios. He is active in general banking and finance litigation with a focus on security rights, directors’ liability and lender liability issues. Evert advises banks, financial institutions, and larger companies (and their (supervisory) directors). He also litigates for this group of clients in these areas of law. Evert used to be a court appointed bankruptcy receiver and has several positions in industry bodies (such as INSOL Europe).
