Career
Ana Clement is a Senior Manager and Leader of EY Law Panama. With more than 20 years of experience, she has focused her professional practice on legal services related to corporate, commercial, AML/FT compliance, migration, and labor law.
Prior to EY Law, she worked in a regional multinational company, allowing her to have a broader and more specialized vision of Central American countries. Since her arrival, Ana has participated in numerous corporate restructuring projects, including assistance in due diligence processes, drafting share and asset purchase agreements for complex transnational Mergers and Acquisitions transactions, as well as advise in negotiation processes and conflict resolution related to local regulations' interpretation and application.
Regarding labor matters, she has advised multinational companies on the review of internal policies adjusted to Panamanian labor laws and reviewed their compensatory schemes to comply with local wage criteria, thus optimizing our clients' labor benefits.
Likewise, she has actively participated in the analysis and drafting of regulations related to the prevention of money laundering and terrorism financing, in accordance with international standards, and in regional projects of advising and drafting privacy policies and informed consent in data protection matters for leading sector companies.
Ana has a degree in Law and Political Sciences from the University of Panama, with postgraduate education in Human Resources Management and Development from the University of Louisville and in Patents, Marks, Copyright, and Competition from the Industrial Law Institute (IDIUS) of the University of Santiago de Compostela.
