Career

Javier Errecondo leads the Banking, Finance and Capital Markets practice at Mitrani Caballero. He has over 35 years of experience advising on structured and project finance, capital markets (debt, equity, securitizations), sovereign and corporate debt restructurings, M&A, and structuring private equity and credit investment vehicles. He represents companies, financial institutions, investment banks, private equity and credit funds, and high-net-worth individuals across Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, and Mexico. Prior to joining the firm, he was a founding partner at EGFA (2004–2024), led the corporate finance practice at Bruchou, Fernandez Madero & Lombardi (1995–2004), and was a foreign associate at Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York (1988–1992). In 2016, he served as external advisor to Argentina’s Ministry of Economy during major sovereign debt negotiations. Javier is admitted to practice in Buenos Aires and New York and is in the process of joining the Colombia bar.
