Elías F. Bestani specializes in shipping and maritime law, insurance and reinsurance in addition to the resolution of complex disputes. He has experience in the structuring of LNG operations and has negotiated time and bareboat charters and volume contracts. He advises clients in marine pollution matters, collisions and in the arrest of ships. Pablo S. Cereijido joined Marval O'Farrell Mairal in 1993 and has been a partner of the firm since 2003. A member of the Litigation Department, he specializes in insurance and reinsurance law and has actively participated in international commercial arbitrations.He advises on reinsurance matters, on matters related to different lines of insurance, on insurance and reinsurance claims, on the drafting of insurance policies and on matters related to insurance brokers, agents and non-traditional distribution channels. He has led the incorporation and merger of insurers and portfolio transfers and worked on the registration of foreign reinsurers and reinsurance brokers with the Argentine authorities. He advises on the insurance and reinsurance regulatory framework.

Martin Chajchir joined Marval O'Farrell Mairal in 2002 and became a partner in 2013. He specializes in Intellectual Property litigation, with a focus on trademarks, domain names, and industrial models and designs. His areas of practice include IP enforcement and anticounterfeiting ─with broad experience in preliminary injunctions and attachment and seizure measures─, general IP litigation, domain name recovery, and out-of-court claims. He represents clients in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the PTO and the Federal Courts. Additionally, he has extensive experience in pre-trial mediation proceedings, conducting negotiations and drafting settlement agreements.

His professional work focuses on advising clients and representing them before the antitrust authorities on matters relating to pre-merger control, cartel investigations, anticompetitive investigation and general market investigations. He has also dealt with mergers, acquisitions and joint venture transactions, advising buyers and sellers on the transfer of shares or assets in Argentina. He has been very active in advising foreign clients on setting up businesses in Argentina and compliance with local regulations. He has published several works related to his area of expertise and has participated as a panelist and moderator in different conferences related to his area of expertise. He is assistant professor of Competition Law at the Post-Graduate Courses of Business and Economics Law of the Universidad Católica. In 1995 he was assistant professor of Economics at the School of Law of the Universidad de Buenos Aires.

Pablo was involved in the privatization program carried out by the Argentine government during the 1990s and represented domestic and multinational companies, private equity, hedge funds and financial institutions in almost all of the largest M&A, Agribusiness and project financing transactions held in Argentina in the last two decades. In these matters, he also assisted local and foreign investors on deals in other Latin-American countries, such as Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Brazil and advised multilateral financial institutions such as the IFC, IDB and the United States Eximbank on their Argentine operations.
