Energy and natural resources Tier 3
Probably best known today, for its profile in the hydrocarbons sector, Goodrich, Riquelme y Asociados has a dynamic practice handling both transactional and the regulatory mandates. On the financing-side, it recently advised Banco Santander and HSBC on a $400m facility agreement with the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE). The six-strong team also works with major energy-sector corporates, such as key client, energy-infrastructure operator Duff & Phelps, which it has been assisting with the structuring of a project to increase the capacity of the national energy transmission network, among other matters. The practice is led by well-known energy-market figure David Enriquez, who has leading oil-and-gas regulatory expertise along with deep knowledge of maritime and transportation law, port regulations, public bidding processes, international commercial contracts, and competition law. On the transactional side, finance specialist Jorge Sandoval works across the energy, renewables, oil and gas segments on matters including finance, foreign investment, commercial cross-border contracts, and assets and securities purchases. Key support comes from associates María Fernanda Velasco -a former director of the National Energy, Security and Environment Agency (ASEA), who joined the firm in mid-2018; and environment and energy specialist Emmanuel Cristian Barroso.
