Career
David Lender is Co-Chair of Weil’s global Litigation Department, a member of the Firm’s Management Committee, and a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He has over 30 years of experience litigating and trying bet-the-company complex commercial disputes in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings. David focuses on antitrust, class action, consumer fraud, contract, patent, and IP matters, among others. He has tried more than 30 cases to verdict as first chair, and serves as primary and longstanding outside counsel to a wide range of industry-leading companies, including BASF, eBay, ExxonMobil, GlobalFoundries, GrubHub, and GoodRx. He is regularly recognized as a preeminent trial lawyer and litigator by leading industry publications, and is a recognized expert, author and frequent lecturer on electronic discovery issues.

This matter is currently pending an appeal before the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He also defended BASF in multi-district litigation alleging that it and a number of other defendants had, via their loyalty programs, created a monopoly in certain agricultural chemicals markets, causing farmers substantial losses, securing a dismissal in September 2024.
