Alex Córdova leads our Tax Law practice area. He specializes in tax consulting, consumption taxation, and tax litigation.

He advises on the analysis of complex tax matters, including derivative financial instruments, trusts, extractive industries taxation, mergers and acquisitions, and digital services, among others.

He represents clients in the country’s most significant tax proceedings. His strategic approach, thorough case understanding, clear analysis, and sharp legal reasoning have consistently led to successful outcomes in both administrative and judicial forums.

He served as president of the Peruvian chapter of the International Fiscal Association (IFA, 2010-2012), as well as chair of the Tax Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce of Peru (AmCham Peru) and the Tax Committee of the National Society of Mining, Oil and Energy. Since 2021, he has chaired the Tax Committee of CONFIEP, Peru’s National Confederation of Private Business Institutions.

He has taught the Consumption Tax course at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), authored several tax-related articles, and is a frequent speaker at local and international forums, including IFA’s global and Latin American congresses and the International Bar Association (IBA).

Various publications such as Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, and Latin Lawyer recognize him as one of the best lawyers in tax law, and he has been highlighted as a Thought Leader in Tax by Lexology Index and as a Highly Regarded Practitioner by ITR.
