Defeated class certification on behalf of major life insurance companies in putative class actions challenging cost of insurance rate adjustments. Won summary judgment on behalf of Towers Perrin Foster & Crosby and individual defendants in connection with the firm's merger with Watson Wyatt. Won dismissal of claims concerning synthetic debt obligations (CDOs) on behalf of major financial institution. Representation of the Unsecured Creditors Committee of Lehman Brothers Holdings, Inc. in litigation concerning derivatives and other complex financial instruments. Won summary judgment on behalf of closed-end fund in novel hostile takeover litigation concerning the Investment Company Act of 1940.
