Advance China IP Law Office > Firm Profile
Advance China IP Law Office (ACIP), founded in 1999, is now one of the largest full-service IP law firms in China with over 1,000 IP professionals. We have four main offices located in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, one U.S. representative office in Silicon Valley, and six other branch offices in major cities of China.
Our mission is to help clients from all over the globe in a vast range of industrial sectors to obtain and manage IP portfolios, protecting their technologies, brands, copyrights, domain names, and the like. For that purpose, we provide comprehensive IP services covering pre-filing strategy, filing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications, post-grant proceedings, enforcement and litigation, aiming to maximize the client’s benefits with cost and time efficiencies.
Clients trust us in both contentious and non-contentious IP matters for our accurate understanding of technology, versatile legal skills, fluent language, commercial-goal-oriented strategy planning, and flexibility and creativity in customizing tailor-made services. Our working languages include Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, and German.
Our patent attorneys with advanced science degrees can skillfully handle patent matters in most technical fields, including but not limited to electrical and electronics, telecommunication, software, semiconductor, displays, cellphones, batteries, mechanics, automobiles, home appliances, genetic engineering, pharma, materials, chemical engineering, medical devices, and the like.
Meanwhile, our trademark teams are strong in trademark prosecution, global trademark portfolio, brand development strategies, prevention of brand use risks, and trademark monitoring for various industries from fashion and luxury brands, cosmetics, sports products, daily commodities, home products to cellphones, automobiles and other high-end products.
The IP litigation team help domestic and international clients enforce their patent, trademarks, and copyrights by formulating contentious strategies, resolving infringements disputes, and combatting counterfeits for right owners via administrative enforcement, litigation, and invalidation proceedings. With cooperation among our Beijing and other offices, we were able to efficiently collect evidence despite absence of discovery and ensure quick actions across China.
One challenge for foreign clients to sue infringers in China is the difference in court system and the burden of evidence collection, which requires the plaintiff to conduct in-depth investigation and formal notarization for court use. With collaboration with our Beijing office and other branch offices, and with the aid of our self-owned investigation team, our attorneys have been able to ensure effective evidence collection despite absence of discovery in person, as well as efficient court archive retrieval, efficient administrative investigation, and quick actions across China.
We also work with IP firms around the globe and actively contributes to international IP associations including AIPPI, INTA, FICPI, IPO, AIPLA, and MARQUES.
