BTO’s Debt Recovery team stands out for the diverse industry sectors in which it is instructed (banking, property factoring, credit card recoveries, credit insurers, ports and marine, registered Social Landlords, construction, retail, hospitality and leisure) which demonstrates the breadth of expertise it possesses.
It handles high volumes of instructions (often uploading as many as 500 new cases in one batch), as well as deploying industry specific approaches, including recoveries in the context of secured recoveries, consumer credit and residential tenancies.
Undertaking a sizeable volume of secured and unsecured recoveries, the team works for financial institutions, credit insurers, SMEs, global credit card companies, property managers and registered social landlords.
BTO’s team partners with law firms in England and Wales with whom we have close relationships, developed over recent years, in cross border referrals, with reciprocation of volume debt recovery instructions.
Its lawyers are known for rendering robust, pragmatic legal advice, with a commercial focus and without defaulting to external counsel. As well as the experienced solicitors who carry out advocacy work, the team has a solicitor advocate handling complex commercial litigation which often flows from cases which begin as a commercial debt recovery instruction.
