Mr. Gaurav Dhwaj is a seasoned corporate lawyer with nearly 20 years of professional experience. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Dhwaj & Associates, a full-service law firm with offices in Noida, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, India. Gaurav specializes in General Corporate Advisory, PE/VC, TMT, and Privacy & Data Protection practice areas.

Throughout his career, Gaurav has advised a diverse range of domestic and international clients, including Fortune 500 companies, delivering tailored legal solutions for complex transactions, disputes, and regulatory challenges. His expertise in offering practical, efficient, and impactful advice has earned him a reputation as a trusted advisor in the legal sector.

In TMT, he has advised clients on a plethora of regulatory areas, including license terms and conditions for telecom service providers, encryption, high-speed internet provisioning through satellite connectivity, unsolicited commercial communication, close user groups, spectrum sharing and trading, EMF emission norms, value-added services, internet telephony, voice over internet protocol, over-the-top services, revenue sharing arrangements, infrastructure sharing or acquisition, access to cable landing stations, in-flight connectivity, net neutrality, license fees, private leased networks, and other service providers.

In Data Protection & Privacy, he has advised clients on the evolving technological, business, and legal issues related to data privacy and security, including the necessary checks and balances for collecting, processing, and transferring personal data within and outside national boundaries. With India making rapid strides towards digitisation and the creation of a robust legal framework dealing with privacy and data protection, there is an unprecedented need for businesses to upgrade their privacy standards to avoid potential liabilities and meet mandatory compliance standards. He is regularly engaged with clients on key compliance requirements and the implementation of customised solutions for them.

He has also drafted India-specific policies, including data management and protection policies, information technology policies, cybersecurity policies, confidentiality policies, and anti-bribery policies for clients operating in the IT-ITES and Media & Entertainment sectors. He has also advised clients in the education, information technology, and healthcare sectors regarding the storage, use, and transmission of personal and proprietary data in accordance with the Information Technology Act.

He has extensive experience dealing with various ministries and departments of the Government of India, including the Department of Telecommunications, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the Ministry of External Affairs, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Telecom Engineering Centre, and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
